Simplicity 4589 FAIL

I decided to add 2" at the fold when I was cutting out and it totally wrecked the proportions! I never wanna show that much top shoulder. Ever! Also, that fabric is nasty! 

Its been unfinished in my project box for 6 wks because I realized my mistake and knew it would be hideous and told myself I couldn't start another sewing project till it was done. I'm glad I finished it, I'd never done a collar band before, but ew! Straight to the trash :p

First of many hats

I finished a hat last night!  I'm so crazy proud of it.  I wish it was cold so I could wear it outside :)

The finish at the top puckers a little and I don't think its supposed to do that lol.  Hopefully the next one will look better.  I knitted it on a circular 8 needle.  CO 90 stitches then K1 P1 for the brim then K for the rest.  I started another one this morning with double ribbing instead of single.  Can't wait to work on it this weekend!
